Proposed Method/Science Mixed Methods – Participatory research approach involving the use of Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (FCMs) to develop a model to be applied to the analysis of data from the Canadian HIV Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Cohort Study
Project Summary Canadian women living with HIV have unmet reproductive healthcare needs. This mixed-methods, participatory research project involving the use of Fuzzy Cognitive Maps for model development (to be applied to the analysis of data from the Canadian HIV Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Cohort Survey) will help to shape the Canadian healthcare landscape by informing reproductive healthcare priorities. The project will include two phases: (1) Fuzzy Cognitive Map Development and Adjustment (2) Application of the Fuzzy Cognitive Map conceptual model to analyze survey data from the Canadian HIV Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Cohort Study. Women living with HIV will be engaged in this project as Peer Research Associates.
Anticipated Impact This project will contribute to the science of patient engagement by presenting an approach to knowledge synthesis that includes and combines patient experience and epidemiological research.
